• 311: A user-friendly hotline was created for county services, streamlining access to essential information, particularly for seniors.

• Branding Campaign: “Experience, Expand, Explore!” was launched to reshape the perception of our County and attract businesses.

• Broadband Initiatives: Dark fiber and broadband infrastructure were expanded along Route 1 in College Park, spurring economic growth.

• County Staff Dashboard: This tool ensured that agency heads were held accountable to the administration’s goals for service improvements.

• DPIE: Rushern streamlined the permitting process, bringing all services under one roof, resulting in efficient and faster project approvals.

• EDI: He established a $50 million revolving economic development incentive fund, which aimed to attract, retain, and grow local businesses.

• Enterprise Zone: Tax incentives were put in place to spur business growth in designated areas.

• Ethics Legislation: He enacted laws preventing developers with active projects from donating to council members during elections, restoring public trust and ending the culture of “Pay to Play.”

• Foreign Trade Zone: Rushern reduced tariffs on imported goods stored in designated areas, saving companies millions until products were exported.

• Metro Development: He focused on revitalizing underdeveloped metro stations in New Carrolton, Morgan Station, Branch Avenue, and Suitland.

• Prince George’s County Incubator: In partnership with the state and Maryland University, Rushern initiated a business incubator program, providing support for local and international startups, leading to numerous success stories.

• Public Safety Investments: Budget increases for Fire and Police added more personnel on the ground, improving community safety.

• TNI: Targeted funding and services were allocated to specific areas for revitalization—reducing crime through increased police patrols, enforcing codes to clean up neighborhoods, and providing grants to enhance storefronts.

• Workforce Development Training: Through innovative programs, thousands were trained for emerging industries, preparing them for the workforce of the future.
